20mm 3/8" Deep Cman Socket?

Title says it all. I would like one to fill in my Hansen tray. I went to Sears to use my $5 coupon and pick one up but they didn't have one. I also couldn't find it online. Whats the deal? No, I don't necessarily NEED this socket right now but I would like to complete my set while they are cheap. Their sockets jump from 19 to 21mm.

I have a better idea. Take a paint pen or something similiar and change the numbers on the hansen rack from 20mm to 21mm and 21mm to 22mm. I have yet to use a 20mm socket. There might be something out there that takes a 20mm socket but, I've yet to find it. I have used a 20mm open end and flare wrench on GM fuel filters and AC lines. Even a free socket that never gets used is just a dust collector.

Yeah, but if he gets the socket it keeps the dust from collecting on his Hansen tray.

If there is no use for it then I suppose I will skip it. I figured the Hansen trays would only give space to the most used sockets so I thought I would fill it in. Then to see that Cman doesn't even make one should tell me something I suppose. I like the 21-22mm idea. The top marking is pretty small, how do you propose I change it? I like to keep my tools labeled correctly so that when others use them(often) they don't get frustrated.

Cheap = $5 off coupon or is there something I'm missing??

Yeah, that is what I was planning on using but a 20mm is not available.

One idea would be to print onto a computer label an oval that is the right size to stick on the top of the hansen socket rod thingy. I've had good luck doing this to change labels on things... takes a little skill with a graphics program to get the size/color/etc right but worth it in the end.

i have few 20mm sockets but it is come in as set... i dont see it will work out for?? sometime i had to use for chrome that had badly corroded inside that cause 19mm won't fit in...

From my pdf list I believe the only Craftsman 20mm sockets are:

6pt STD 3/8"
6pt STD 1/2"
12pt STD 1/2"
12pt DEEP 1/2"

I had the same problem finding a Craftsmen one(both the deep and regular), so I filled it with an SK one. Filled some of the other ones with Armstong, such as the 4.5mm.

Ok, so if I want to complete my set it will have to be a little mis-matched. Thats OK. I just visited Sears, purchasing 15/16" and 1" sockets(3/8 drive, deep, 12pt.) with the $5 coupon. I looked for the 6-9mm deep 12pt. to fill in my metric set(other than the 20mm) and couldn't find any of them either. I was really hoping to complete my set with the coupon offer. Looks like Cman is lacking in the socket dept. I will have to check the local pawn shop for those sockets in a quality brand other than Cman. Oh well. This $5 coupon is working great for this though. A 1" deepwell socket is only $2.05.:)

A 4.5 mm socket is used for, among other things, removing and installing several bolts on the "distibutor" of the LT1/LT4 engine. Well, thats my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I don't think I have ever used a 20mm socket. Thats a real oddball. I just bought Matco's in 8 7 and 6mm to fit my tray, but the 8mm doesnt fit over the peg!!! Craftsman really NEEDS an 8mm socket, its actually really common.

25/32" is practically the same as 20mm. Maybe you can find one of those to live on that peg.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I can't afford to buy the extra sizes off a tooltruck so I will have to watch for them at my local pawn shop. Hopefully I can get the rest filled in with the $5 coupon though. I'll look for a 25/32" for the 20mm slot. Thanks.

EDIT: I also couldn't find a deep 1/4", 3/8 drive socket. The Sears site shows Gearwrench as having one but not Craftsman. Unfortunately they don't carry the Gearwrench sockets in the store so I can't apply the coupon. Oh well.
