i need a gun for my job and found the 2135qtimax for 260 and the 2235qtimax for 300

should i go the extra 40 for the 300 or no?

i mostly use it for tire rotations so just lug nuts..

would the 2235 be too powerful for that?

2235 can take off crankshaft bolt and axle nuts.. 2135 can't. BTW don't spend the extra for the piece of muffler foam... oops I mean quiet model

U can do better than that on price. I picked up the 2135 for 208 on Amazon.
I was debating the same question and decided on the 2135. It's more than adequate for what I want ( remove lugs on a small suv). I prefer the lighter weight and size and realistically wouldn't need the power of the 2235.

2235, without a doubt. I can see by the blow-up they fixed one, most likely two issues that I saw too many times with the 2135 for my liking.

Here's this... If you drop the extra $40 and don't need the extra power, worst case you end up with buyers remorse. If it bothers you enough you can do some handy man work one afternoon to earn back $40.

If you get the cheaper gun and you end up desiring more, then your out a gun, aka more than $40.

You mean rotors and trigger tip valves? What do you figure they did with the 2235's to help it out? I haven't seen the 2235's exploded view but I'm pretty familiar with IR internals.

I must be doing it wrong. My 2135 took off all but maybe one or two of each, including plenty of rusted to hell axle nuts.

If you're stuck on new, 2235 without a doubt. I got 2 2135s used for about a hundo each, I was debating upgrading shortly before I quit working in a shop, but couldn't quite justify it. I'd consider a used 2135, but even my cheap *** might still spring for the 2235 if I were starting from scratch.

DO NOT GET THE QUIET MODEL !!! it loses power by having the muffler, basically the "muffler" as they call it is just a restrictor in the exhaust.
otherwise it is great gun

2235 no doubt... Its super powerful, taking off lug nuts with 90psi at the gun, I just tag the trigger and let go it puts the lug nut right to the end of the threads... On most boilts it sounds like more of a drill than an impact, just awesome..

Ebay you will find them in the $260-270 neighborhood...

The quiet model only knocks 30 ft-lbs off the max torque and it is actually more than just a piece of foam. I like the quiet version but it takes a bit to get used to the fact that noise doesn't equal power.

i have a "quiet" impact its not an i.r. but really isn't quiet at all once the hammer starts hitting! sure the gun's quiet free speed but that rarely occurs. i say get the most powerful gun you can buy!

I love mine. When you use them day in day out the quiet does make a difference especially if all the guys around you also have them. Nothing worse than some a hole next to you blasting you out while taking off lugnuts.

Louder doesn't mean more power.

It's also important to remember that a fastener can only handle so much torque. My quiet IR had never failed to remove a fastener, either by spinning it off or breaking it off.

OP said he was just doing tire rotations so it's hard for me to understand why he needs 2235.

2135 will be more than adequate. It's lighter and cheaper. Now if he said that he he might tackle bigger jobs in the future like axle bolts it might make sense to get the 2235.

Get the 2135, feels great in the hand and is powerful enough for what u want.

The 2135 is a great gun, and I've own many, but it's hard to justify the $260 price tag when the newest/biggest/baddest IR gun is only $40 more. The 2135 has been around for a decade.
