i have a 22 ton truck jack, the type that is distributed under many names.
it is new and done ****** all work.
the problem is that it won't hold a load up.
it will slowly creep down.
i have repaired pump up and down handle style floor jacks, but never anything with an air motor.
i'd like to know in detail how the air motor works.
is there a ball bearing on the release side that would cause the problem.
i have attached a pic of the jack.

It depends on the model of device at all. For instance, the principle of motor function is the following: when the compressed gas from one inlet into the gas chamber, the drive rotor rotation, exhaust emitted from the exhaust port three, the residual gas discharged from the outlet port two, - information taken from research paper help online source. How to apply it in practice I don't know. Try to look for video tutorial on utube.

Your truck probably weighs in at about 3500 lbs. That's distributed on four tires = <900 lbs each. So, a 2-ton jack stand (4000 lbs) at each wheel will support each wheel with lots of leftover capacity. Do My Ez Assignment For Me Been there, done that several times. Just be sure you don't use "cheap" 2 ton jack stands. Spend the extra money for quality and safety.

A check valve is leaking.

Easy way is to -carefully- tear into it and find the dirt in the valve.

Or contact Hiball if he is still active as he is the small jack expert.

Is this a bot or a real account? OP is talking about a 44,000lb jack and this post is not relevant to the question which was asked... :willy_nil

It's not really a Air Motor, it essentially is a Air piston with a Heavy spring to reset the action once the piston head clears the bump out to release the built up air. I would check the release ball/seat, but it could be the Main Ram seal, improperly adjusted overload (if equipped). The job of the Air Piston is to cycle and pull/push hydraulic oil from the reservoir to the cylinder via a little push Rod (not the entire air cylinder), it has nothing to do with supporting the load.
