Anyone have information on this wrench? It has 1 3/4 and 1 1/2" ends and the only marking reads 41-W-890-20.

Never mind. I just did my due diligence and found the same one on eBay.

It's a WWII MILITARY 41-W-890-20 SHERMAN TANK LARGE WRENCH

I wouldn't trust an Ebay seller to say this is a "Sherman Tank" wrench without other supporting evidence. It may be but sellers can say anything and usually will to make a sale.

I was in the gun store one day and looking at an old banged up but looked workable Colt 1911. The gun store owner told me "We were told this gun used to belong to 'Wild Bill' Donovan." Right. An old adage for gun nuts is, Don't buy the story, buy the gun. Without documentation it was a $600 gun. If they did have documentation it would be worth twice what they were asking, or more. They were asking $5,000.

I concur. I had drafted my post and just before submitting I did another search for 41-W-890-20 and found found the eBay listing. My previous search, a few months ago, had not turned up anything.

Thanks,

Bryan

That's a big boy for sure. This wrench was likely designed for military use. What equipment it was made for, I don't know.
41 is an old Federal Stock Number designation for hand tools and pre-dates the National Stock Numbering system in use today.
Also, it looks very similar in make to some old BluePoint DBEs that I have. I wouldn't be surprised if it was made by Snap-On.
I would keep it in the car next to the drivers seat just in case someone wanted to mess with me! :lol_hitti
