220 Volt New sub panel In garage

I am going to install a 220V 100 Amp sub Panel in garage for my tools which are a saw and air compressor. I run a conduit from Main Panel of two hot wires and a ground . Not Not sure how to use Neutral in sub Panel. Please confirm

A 240V sub panel requires 4 wires. 2 hots, neutral and ground. Neutral and ground are separated in the sub-panel. The sub-panel will most likely need a ground bar added for the ground. The neutral goes to the bar already in the sub-panel but you need to remove the bonding screw from the bar to the panel. The neutral needs to be isolated. The neutral is how you get 120V.

Pattenp gave u the right info. Also, is this garage detached? If so, you will need a ground rod as well!

Well said...most people miss the removal of the bonding screw...
