220V adapter/extension cords?

my Garage is wired with a miller welder type receptacle on the wall. i bought a plasma cutter with a different plug. the question is if anyone makes extension/adapter cords for this kind of thing or am i gonna hafta just make one or put a dedicated receptacle for the one machine?

What plasma unit did you purchase? The receptacle on the wall is most likely a nema 6-50R. Does the plasma have a L6-30P and you are missing the adapter?

I just put all the different outlets into a multi gang metal box with rounded corners. Then a cord with the wall compatible plug on the end.

Solid wire pigtails are used in the box since the stranded cord wire is not good under the screw terminals.

Chinese finger or watertight strain relief on the cord going into the box.

Some one will doubtless point out that this method will set my hair on fire and neuter my gerbils. Whatever. :shocking:
