Hi all,

Not sure if I have my terminology right. I have a building with a finished interior (drywall). I need to run some 220v lines for my bridgeport mill and south bend lathe. I can run conduit inside the walls to a 4" deep box for an outlet. Are there cover plates for this? Everything I see at the big box stores looks like it's for an exposed set up like you would see in a factory or steel building. I'm trying to keep the finished look.

Thanks,

If the outlet is large enough that it will mount to either single box or a 2 gang box you could use one of these:

It projects from the wall to compensate for the drywall.

If not, and it only will mount to a single gang box, you'd need one of these:

and one of these:

They're all available at Home Depot

OK thanks, I can do that. What I was wondering about is if there was a face plate of some sort that would match typical outlet face plates. I don't see any of those at the big box stores. I have some .060 diamond plate - I guess I could always make something.

You use the plaster ring as shown above.
Then it leaves you with aprox 2"x3" opening and you put a cover plate on it.

This is what I did with my welding plug :)

I bought blank covers and drilled them for the 6-50 receptacles. The boxes are doubles.
