All the outlets in the garage are going to need to be on gfci breakers. I just asked this question yesterday about my ceiling outlets for the garage doors, and that is when someone mentioned that even the 240 circuits also have to be on gfci breakers in the new 2020 code. I built my home 35 years ago to the code in effect then, however, whenever possible, I try to update to be in compliance with the latest codes. I know that it is for our safety that the codes are changing.
I am going to be going broke buying Square D QO gfci breakers, but at least it is relatively easy to change them out. They cost about $50 each!!!
