220v to 110v?

I ran two outlets (separate breakers) for my welder and plasma cutter. It's 8 gauge wire. I never use both, as I need an extension cord, and only made one.

I need to wire in a hookup for my camper. 120v, 30 amp. Is it a big no-no to just cap the red wire at both ends, and swap to a 110 breaker?

I assume you have a white neutral to use to get 120V. If so you're good to go with capping the red.
