I'm looking for a cheap but US made socket to keep in my work van in case I have to change a flat tire on the road. The size I'm looking for is 22mm 6 point deep well in 1/2" drive chrome or impact. I stopped at Sears and they only had 12point chrome deep wells and their impacts are Chinesse made and look like **** compared to the older US versions. I've got these sizes in my tool box at home, but want an extra to keep in my van at all times. Does Allen offer this size and 6 point in a single?

Some Sears stores still have a few of the USA made individual Craftsman impact sockets hanging near the air tools. They don't seem to be replacing them, just selling off what they have.
I just picked up a 17mm deep 6pt on Monday, to fill a gap in a set I got from a pawn shop for $2 apiece last month. I seem to recall there being a couple of 20mm and above hanging there also.

The one I picked up was $11.99

You can also try ACE hardware. They carry CM tools and the ones around here still have mostly USA made stock

My ace hardware is pretty much all USA but their entire selection of singles is 12pt

Also the Evolv impact set includes a 22mm and I bought the whole set for $19.99

Is this a Ford van by chance? It happened to one of our guys too.. Got a flat in the company van and found the factory-supplied lug wrench was too shallow to fit all the way over the stud and onto the nut! He had a heck of a time trying to explain to our dispatcher exactly how and why the lug wrench didn't fit! Anyway, the van is now fitted with a big beefy breaker bar and a deep socket on it. For next time!

It's a GMC Savana 2500 cargo van. I just don't want to rely on the cheap wrench that the jack comes with to remove the lugs. I'd rather have a nice long breaker bar and socket for better leverage. I remember having to change a tire on the side of the road in my father-in-laws Chevy Express van and had a hell of a time getting them lugs off with the supplied wrench, very tight.

A 7/8" socket works just fine for those lug nuts as well. I do a lot of fleet maint. on Ford Vans and sometimes it seems like my 7/8" deep never leaves my 1/2" gun.
