I have a 24 x 26 garage, 10' ceilings. 2 x 6 well insulated walls, 2 double paned, insulated windows in each side windows face north and south direction. 18' x 8' insulated door, one standard size person door. 12" ceiling joists, insulated ceiling. southeastern North Carolina, on the coast location.
Looking for a calculation that will give me the best cooling and heating, need to have the area be dry!!! Would welcome suggestions on brand and model have looked at Daikin with the inverter.

I’ve got a 900 sf shop with spray foam walls and ceiling, 12’ walls and 240 sf of roll up garage doors facing west.
I’m getting 36k btu unit. Was told it’s a little over kill, but with the new inverter technology, the air conditioner unit will ramp down when it gets to the set temperature.

Looking for a calculation that will give me the best cooling and heating, . . .

Search for "online manual J calculation" or "HVAC load calculator". You'll find several sites where you can enter dimensions and such about your space and it will calculate the cooling load. You may have to search through multiple sites to find one that will calculate heating needs as most are focused on cooling. I wouldn't rely on just one site. Run the number through several and see if a consensus develops. Good luck.
