240 volt circuit for a new welder

When I build I try and plan for the future and not just get by with the minimum.

To use what you want
So you don't blow a 50 amp fuse.

I appreciate all the interest and comments. I think that since I have the 6 gauge wire on hand I'll probably just wire it up as a standard 50 amp circuit and breaker. I have no other tools right now that need 240, but wiring this way will cover the welder and anything that comes up in the future.
