I have a 34x46x10 foot shop area in Colorado that I want to heat with 220v electric Ceiling heaters. Just finalized solar that will feed the shop and the house so this is not an electric vs gas discussion.

Shop is about 150 feet out the back of the house. I want to be able to get up in the am. Decide it is a shop day, and fire up at least two of the four heaters with wifi thermostat so it is warm by the time I get out there.

Looking at countless threads on heaters I am leaning towards the King KBP2406 5700-Watt MAX 240-Volt Single Phase Paw Unit Heater.

It appears I can use an AUBE RC840T heating relay and run the heaters off a 24v thermostat.

Here are my questions.....

1. Can I run at least two, possibly all four heaters off one thermostat linked to an AUBE relay for each heater. heaters are on separate circuits.
2. will heaters still function as intended from factory......element on, fan only comes on when hot,,,,,,element goes out on shutdown and fan stays on until heating element cools with this setup.
3. Any safety concerns with this setup.
4. any suggestions.....I am definitely not an electrician.

thanks in advance. Anyone in the Denver/Arvada area interested in seeing shop, it is 2500 sq ft total. I will work on posting pics. 20x45 RV slot, 34x46 shop area. Planned usage.....vehicles, metal art. 5x10 cnc table. tube benders/anvil. 2x 12v Dodge diesel pickups, Jeep, SXS. Full bath, heat, internet, cable TV. Definitely a place to spend the entire day in the winter.

Let's hear and . . . . SEE . . . . more about your SOLAR !!
Kw ?? # of panels ?? Watts per panel ?? Brand of inverter ??

Why not just heat for Free with Solar . . . slowly . . . every day . . . rather than try to "immediately" heat with multiple 240v electric heaters that will be surely drawing PoCo power, rather than your free solar ??

How well is shop insulated ??

For a morning warm up why run only 2 heaters instead of 4? If you think 2 heaters will warm it up why would you even need 4?

looking to run at least two heaters off single thermostat. If I can run all 4 great. Still looking for answer to basic question. will this setup work for 24v thermostat and retain all factory function on heaters?

Yes this is definitely possible. You just have to wire each heater to a stage of heat with a relay/contactor in between the on unit thermostat in the heater cabinet. You will still need a 24v power source such as a transformer to power the thermostat. Each stage of heat will correlate to a heater. Example W1-goes to heater 1, W2-Goes to heater 2 etc. So as the thermostat stages on it will bring on more heaters and vise versa. This will allow you to run a 24V control to the heaters and not 240v.
