Purchased 12x (2x) bulb 4' T8 light fixtures and have LED bulbs to retrofit them.

I am looking for some opinions if anyone has experience they'd like to share. So, with 12' ceilings is this a decent amount of light or should I invest in more fixtures? The lighting calculators show a crazy amount of fixtures... like 30+ so I'm not sure if I'm using them properly.

Realistically I will be spending most my time working at the back of the shop near the workbench. Also not shown I have 2x 24" windows on the left wall of my layout. The thick red line is an 8 inch beam that measures about 12" from the bottom of the beam to ceiling.

The LED tubes are 4000k and are supposedly 1980 lumens (110 lumens per watt @18w)

You can increase the intensity if you want, later, by swapping one or more fixture over to a 2- or 4- bulb T5HO. Very bright! I was worried I would glare myself to frustration by placing one over my welding bench but it is no problem at all, very glad to have the extra intensity there.

I would have went with 12 8' 4 lamp fixtures instead,in three continuous rows.A lot less work,a lot more light for not a lot more money...
