Finally got my garage built it's been a long time coming. I've been wanting this garage for a long time. I wanted to build it at my previous house but I knew that I didn't want to stay there long. So I bought another house with more room and land that I planning being at for a while. the old house was just too small (I felt like) for my family . Long story short I wanted to create a thread as I get my garage like I want. I'll post pics asap..

I also added some lights from Costco. For $20 ea.I couldn't pass them up..I'll add some more lights soon. I just hung those up to have some light temporarily. They are ran off a drop cord as of now. I plan on doing a full electrical and doing it proper. I'm an electrician by trade so it will be lit up and power everywhere.

Looking good! What are your future plans for it? Work on cars? Work with wood?

I plan to work on cars and trucks.mainly classic cars and trucks.and some late model performance stuff. I've built several hotrods in my attached garage. I've built everything from a 1923 model T rat rod to a low 4sec (1/8 mile) outlaw 10.5 mustang either in my garage or my dad's home shop. We both enjoy the same hobbies

Will do..might try to get a few more things done this weekend.work has been busy and I have 3kids and a wife that take up my other free time. The goal is when my shop is finished I'll be able to sneak out there when everyone is in bed or at work/school.

Didnt get much done in the shop. I just swept it out and organized some parts. I got parts in for my truck so ive been messing with it.Trying to get it ready to sell at the autofair in Charlotte in April. The shop is going to be slow going until i sell the truck. I didnt plan on buying the truck but i couldnt pass up the deal.

Pretty sweet setup, and really love the K/10.

Question...how deep are those retaining wall post on the backside of the garage? I want do something like that close to my deck. It currently has a stacked rock wall that's long overdue for replacement.

They are 4+ft in the ground. I used a dingo with an auger attachment and burried the bit as far as I could. Then used 2 80lb bags of concrete for each post . They are 6x6 post about 4ft apart . I also leaned them in at the top about 1/2 bubble on a level. The tall corner is about 4ft tall . It's prob over built but I don't have to worry about it for a long time..
And thanks for the comments on the truck and shop. I'd like to keep the truck but really wanting another muscle car like a Chevelle or Nova. So I plan on selling or trading the truck for one.

Thanks for the reply, that does sound like a really solid build that'll last for sure.
