Hello,

I got one of my walls closed up over the weekend - 48ft.

I want to continue to close the gable end as well. i am 12' OC 6x6 posts and I put in 4x4's in between each 6x6's and ran them 9 feet up and then put the girts on.

12' eaves metal trusses 16' peak. There is a lot of space to be utilized but I am having a hard time deciding how to lay it out. One half of the barn will be stalls, the other half will be workshop with a 12x12 section w/ slab for climate controlled area for tack. The other 3 12x12 sections will be general workspace and I would like to add a 12x24 floating deck or mezzanine along the gable end wall and then about 8ft wide loft running centerline to the other gable end.

My poles are set in concrete but i have no slab and do not intend on pouring a larger than 12x12 slab.

should I use 4x4 post's set in concrete and build it like a floating deck?

What would be the best and least obtrusive layout for supporting floor joists with 4x4 posts?

Will be a few bales of hay on the stall half but want the 12x24 area to be the man cave. What i am envisioning is a 12x24 room on one gable end wall with an 8ft loft running centerline to the other gable end. Top down view resembles a big letter "T".

I think least obtrusive depends totally on what’s under it on the first floor. What do those stalls look like? I would want as much support as I could get located in the stall partitions. Based on that I am thinking most of the weight could be on the centerline.
