Well here we go. Wife says building a shop every 40 years is not to much, so I'm starting one now.

ALWAYS check and recheck contractors references AND his work.
I hired a bum for the pad. Poured 25x34, blueprints have 24x34!
8" deep footings, no post pier, no p-trap in the shower, sewer too shallow, anchor bolts in the corners, under studs and in impossible places.
NEVER poured the retaining wall for the tornado/bathroom and you know he won't respond to any communication.
"Fool me once,....."
Anyway here we go.
It's 25x34 with 12 ' eve's, a 25x14 mezzanine.
A 18x12 solar collector wall, (6) 2x10 skylights and a south facing 10x10 clear glass garage door.
Cameras, (4)-already installed!!!
High-pressure sodium lighting.
(4)-solar panels 12v 33 amp system for led lights and charging batteries/alarm system.
8x8 bathroom with. Shower.
Metal 2 tone siding. Gray over charcoal
It's primarily to do my machine work and welding in, but cars will always be there.

Sounds awesome. I'd love to see pictures of this because you're almost identical to what I'm planning. I'm going 20'x40' and planning a mezzanine and solar power. Good luck with the build and I'm looking forward to updates.

Steveodle, did you ever finish this? Would love to see pics of the mezzanine and how you built it.
25 x 14 mezzanine, (2) 25ft.x 9.5" x 3.5" Laminated beams glued + screwed together with 2 x 10 floor joists on 24" centers. 3/4" t+g plywood floor, glued + screwed.
3" post with a top plate midspan on the beam.
90" to bottom of the lamps.
I can still STAND upright on the mezzanine in the mid 10 x 14 space.
The rest, on the sides will be nice to store STUFF[emoji16].20171102_153741.jpg20171102_142100.jpeg20170903_183043.jpeg20170903_182835.jpeg20170903_182801.jpeg
