ok i got this huge compressor a while ago for 50$.. lol yes that is that i paid for it so ya i couldn't pass that up... knowing it was a 3 ph motor when i got it is the only reason i paid what i did.. anyways i want to get it up and running now that i have my 100a subpannel out to the garage all done!

So i need to get a new single phase motor.. but my Q is this.
on the existing ingersoll rand motor is says (HP 10.0/7.50) so does this mean i can put ithor size motor on this unit? because clearly a 7.5 hp one is cheaper than a 10 hp.. and will draw less amps so less light flicker on kick in..

If i do a 7.5 hp do i need to reduce the pulley size or would it be fine since the motor on their seems like its saying ithor size will work..?

Existing motor specs.
PH3
Frame - 213 / 5T
HP - 10/7.5
RPM - 1755/1470
Hz - 60/50
Duty cont

hope that helps..
