So looking at my socket rail. I have over the last year filled in the 23mm and 20mm spot with a deep well sockets for swelled 22 and 19 size lugs.
I still don't have a 25mm socket and never needed one yet. I know it's close to 1" in size. So besides the normal smart *** comment of "a 25mm nut!" Remark.....what all have you worked on that requires a 25mm socket

The hansen socket rails are kinda infamous for having spots for sockets that most people dont have, and will likely never use. But because you have a missing peg, people want to fill it!

I have been able to get by with a 25mm wrench, socket wasn't required. My use is an elevator bolt (leveling feet) used in most of the cabinets I design.

In theory you should never find that size OE on a modern era vehicle. It's not standardized by the ISO, ANSI, DIN or JIS institutes.

Been there, decided not to spend the money on a socket I'll never use (hint: use a 1" instead). 25's on socket organizers are just as annoying as 20's. File it off and use the peg to hold an extension or u-joint or a duplicate size in 6/12 point or something.

I want to say a Volvo mechanic told me the oil drain bolt on a Volvo 240 is actually 25mm and not 1", even though everyone just uses a 1" socket.

12 point 20mm is the size of the large/ upper idler gear center bolt on dt466 engines. Never needed a 6 point 20, or 25mm yet

What we have in the middle of the picture is a 20, 25, 26, 28, 29 & 31mm

I don't think I've ever used any of them. [emoji55]

K&N wrench off filters have a 1"/25mm nut welded to the canister.
Some RC cars use 25mm wheel nuts.

The Hansen trays strike again!!!

There have been many posts about people searching for the odd sized sockets needed only to fill a peg. OCD at it's finest.:willy_nil

Good to know about the Volvo drain plug though.

Like those Facom socket size markings in the bottom of the socket. not sure how long they'd last with use though.:dunno:

No need to worry... They are made of a very tough flexible plastic.
I have been using them for 8 years now, which is probably 1 years worth
of pro shop work, and they are still perfect.

Completely oil, grease, trans fluid and brake clean proof... Brilliant things.

Until you get the accessory oil temperature gauge, then the plug is replaced with a sensor/plug combo that uses a 22 mm wrench.

And since the threads on the Volvo drain plug are really 3/4"-16, the proper wrench size probably really is 1".
