Very cool site!!! Thanks for letting me in to enjoy the company. As an automotive tech by trade and an avid hot rodder and racer, I always wanted a shop of my own. I told the wife that I don't hang out at bars or strip clubs, with a shop, she would always know where I was and that I wasn't getting myself in trouble. So back in 1991, I began construction of my shop. 3 months later, it was done and the fun began. The wife has the 2 car garage for her stuff and I have the shop for mine. It has its own driveway, 18X7 roll up door, 36" service door, 110 and 220 volt service and compressed air plumbed inside. I also built a 15X20 shed out back to store my spare parts, camping gear and air compressor.

Here are some crappy night pics from the front roll up door.

Dry walled and insullated makes a big difference

My first project was to make a lifelong dream come true. It was 2 years of great fun!

I built this street rod using my spare race motor de-tuned for the street. Full cage, 5 point belts, fuel cell.......

On the other side of my house, I built this 12X24 RV garage from scratch for about $1,000. Its nice to have all my stuff parked inside every night.

I can't imagine not having a shop. Tell me what you think.

Looks great. I edited it so that the pictures would show. I'm not sure what was going wrong with the image codes.

What are the dimensions of the shop itself?

I'd be interested in learning how you built the RV garage for that little. Details please.

Sure. I went to my local fence supply store and purchased the required 1.5" tubing to make the frame and both end walls (that also swing open). I found a guy on craigslist selling blem decorative sheet metal. I then got the rubber washer self tapping sheet metal screws at my local bolt supply store. I had the 2" angle alum. I used to redhead the garage to the concrete slab. For the roof, I cut and welded to acchieve the peak roof angle. Lastly, I used 1.5" electrical conduit 90 degree bends where the roof meets the side walls. My son and I put it up over one weekend. If I ever move, I will take it with me.
