I did the outlets at above the 4 ft height so that I could lean a 4 ft wide/tall sheet against the wall and still access the outlets. Yes it is a lot more hassle to do it my way since you have to measure more carefully and set the upper panel in with a little more precision.

Hey - I like that idea. Seems a little extra effort with the top sheet placement/installation, but having the bottom 4 ft clear for leaning sheet plywood for projects would be very convenient.

Here is larger pic of my avatar truck. It is my 49 Ford COE, very modified and nothing stock. The COE is a lot of fun, drive it anywhere, just takes gas. This pic was taken at Bonneville lastyear at Speedweek. The COE has been to last 4 year of Speedweek, I go every year. Several friends race and in theory I am building a 55 Studebaker coupe to race myself. Although the Stude is on hold since no workshop until recently.

Absolutely love your truck!

Have you raced at Bonneville? If not, you should; it's a lot different than being in the pits/starting line. This year is fast approaching and I can't wait!

The truck is just for driving around, not racing. I have several friends that race, and I am (very slowly :lol_hitti ) working on a 55 Studebaker coupe landspeed race car project.

The COE would be a terrible choice for racing as far as aerodynamics. Plus with all the modifications I have done it does not fit into any class, it would be time only. It would need the full safety equipment added.

Hows that 55 coming?

The 55 Stude is sitting outside waiting its turn. Probably be at least 2 years until I get serious on it. Too many other house and yard projects, thanks to the recent heavy rains and erosion. Also the Stude is in addition to just needing to keep other stuff maintained, or finish up the 52 GMC project. I need to be retired just so I can catch up :D Unfortunately that is several years away.

I totally understand what you're saying.

I love the COE (I've often Googled "old COE trucks", so I've seen it many times on Google images and it's one of my favorites) - your avatar is what drew me to this thread.

Just ran across your shop build Terry. Very nice. Would love to see more pics of the inside now that you are moved in and working.

I should have gave you a shout a couple of weeks ago. My wife and I had never been to Albuquerque but were on our way to an RV rally in Texas a couple of weeks ago and spent the night there. At at a Mexican restaurant called Papa Felipes that was amazing.

Hello Terry,

I recognize you from the HAMB. What's the green 68/69 Gto/Lemans in post #27? Yours?
