it starts out. hey honey can you bring home a load of gravel of course i can but i should remove the old fill and add a 28 x 36 shop with easy drive way access was my reply as i kinda ducked. before i could spin around and see her face i was pleasantly surprised to hear that's fine dont kill my rose bushes
. i had a job that required a backhoe so i got out with paying 1 days rent and having it for almost a week. we are in eastern ky so you can imagine how flat our land is. it took almost 4 foot of dirt out of our drive way to get me a pad big enough and the grade low enough so i could relive the water issues from under the house.
this is my under $500 temporary building were i was originally going to build the pole barn but after 1 winter of sliding down the hill to work on stuff i had enough

here are a few pics of the land were the barn is going and the work that followed

i have ordered and paid for all the lumber and trusses i dont mind having the wood laying around for a bit but didnt want to store the metal here i know if i did some one or something would have walked on it or drove on it and messed it up.
the plan is to go 16' inside wall so i can add a loft over half of it for the wifes craft area. i really only need 1 12-15' wide x 16 ft tall bay for my hoist and the rest of the 1st floor space for tools and parking.
the dozer operator was out today and quoted me 560 cash price for 1 day out here and is on the sceadual for his 1st job as soon as the rain is gone. the wood should be delivered tomorrow. i only have a 3 day lead time on metal and insulation so as soon as the posts are set im ordering the metal.
the question is what should i look in to for the loft floor laminated beams or steel the short side is 21 ft the long side is 28 ft. i want to be clear floor or possibly 1 coloum next to the hoist coloum for support . i have no inspections no permits to pull no red tape what so ever. i do however want to do the loft right and have a good strong floor that will be as solid as any house 1st floor would be. advantec is my 1st choice for plywood flooring but as far as the rest of the floor i dont know what way to go. i am on a budget so the least money i can invest and still be right will be the best solution for me. we have no loans of any kind and will not finance anything period so if the loft has to wait it will.
