Hello, and hope you enjoy this journey with me ! I welcome all advice and criticism as I share my build with y'all! The excavation started on 7/11 and I'm just now getting around to starting my thread. I have got a lot of good ideas from this site , so hopefully this thread will help someone else. image.jpg

Wow you made this look easy. I'm in Baltimore MD and i want a 2 story 28x30. City zoning is a pain! We wanted to begin building this month but the city is giving us the blues. Hopefully it will be approved but that will be in December. So the build wouldnt begin til next spring. In the meantime, I'm happy with living vicariously through your build! Lol. Nice job! How much for did it cost you, if you dont mind?

10k concrete! 2k lumber so far . The only work I subbed out was the pouring of concrete. And a friend helped with 13 of the trusses. The rest I have done solo. Thanks for your interest! Trying to be 100% by Halloween!

JP....nice looking garage for sure, and it adds a lot to the house. Before you completely rip out the drive, look at it and see if you can't use a portion of it as a sidewalk to go from the new driveway over to your front door unless you want to pour a new walk.

And how can you get by doing your approach like you do. Around here, if there are curbs and gutters, you have to retain those, or you have to have a certain type of approach poured so it does not block any water flow. It looks like they just poured right over the curb and made an angled approach, blocking the curb flow.

What's the plan for the inside of the garage?
