Not sure if these are what you're talking about . I came across a few of these in a box of random bits I have . Not even sure where I got them . They're marked Apex 996 2px . Thought they were #1's at first because of the size . They are clearly marked #2 . I've tried them on #2 screws and they work great . They sit deep in the pocket of the screw head , and they don't let go . The top one is a Pb Swiss ph2 for reference

Yes, that’s it. Those are 4’s not 9’s. The Apex 446 series are their limited clearance bits. That bit in my hard handle Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver turned a lot of screws.

Apologies for being slightly off-topic, but I am not aware of a dedicated screwdriver with this type of shaft, so bits it is.

I would need to check, but I think that any PH2 bits marked as Dry Wall will have a reduced profile. I think that I might have some Zephyr that are marked as a lower profile. I do know that I have some now out of production Tekton as well as Vessel and Zephyr marked as Dry Wall. The only difference I am aware of for Dry Wall bits is that the head is slimmer / smaller so the bit will sit deeper into the screw.... If I am remembering correctly (I should probably look that up).

A drywall PH2 bit has a reduced diameter tip, which provides a deeper and more secure grip on a drywall screw head, preventing stripping and allowing it to drive screws to the correct depth without damaging the drywall paper

^ I was not aware Wera was doing a "ball grip" model. Do they make a full range in that style? (Slotted/Phillips?)

As far as I know 1 size flat and ph1, ph2 & ph3 in divergent size length or color made for the Japanese market (Amazon.co.jp)
