This is very possibly a very dumb question but I could be missing something so I figured I'd ask...
Is there any reason on most of these grinders they are built wider (deeper) than taller? Why couldn't a guy build it a little taller and save some depth (ie make it have a smaller footprint?) Sure the platen would have to be a little bigger but I'm making it, and the tension arm and pulley would have to up higher but is there just something silly I'm obviously completely missing thinking about making it taller with less depth? The reason behind this is I limited on room and taller is easier to store than deeper.
