I live in Rochester NY and it gets cold here. We just completed our Garage. This was posted in the Floor section. Below are some pics. I need some advice as to best heater to install.

Should I go with this: http://www.qcsupply.com/qcsupply/browse/productDetailWithPicker.jsp?productId=20855

Or this: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200316363_200316363

What is the BTU size I need for this Garage. I have gas line in the basement there is a door going to the basement in the garage as well as a door to the mud room. above the garage is a Bonus room but I think there is enough room to vent to the roof on either side of the bonus room.

I'm not a small drip under pressure (ex-pert) but with the garage bordering the house and the bonus romm over, you'd be very likely to be OK with the 45K. But - the 75K would for sure do it and the extra capacity is probably needed up where you're at. The Mr. Heater 75K has a good review from somebody in N. Dakota and it gets Bullwinkle cold up there.

Good calculator here: http://www.ultimategarageheater.com/garage-heater-calculator.php

I'm in the process now of getting several estimates. I want a nice clean ceiling install with a simple thermostat.

I've got a 75,000 BTU natural gas Modine Hot Dawg that I bought from QC Supply 2 years ago. It heats my 24X44X12 detached shop very well, and I live in the northwest. I'd image a 45,000 would do the job with yours, with the low ceiling etc. Very happy with QC I might add.

How many hours do you think that Mr Heater would run on a Grill sized Propane Tank?

If the right figure is 92K BTU/gallon, a 5 gallon tank would last about 10 hours.

The figure above would be correct, but if you put the tank outside and temps were low with little sun, the propane would not vaporize fast enough to keep up with the furnace. Bottom line wouldn't really work and not cost effective. Bare min. you have to go with a 100# bottle.
