So, this thread:

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=375250

had this post from Mecha:

I thought those Moody wrenches were pretty spiffy - as such, I have recently acquired the 8pc SAE and 8pc metric sets.

The metric contains a 3.2mm wrench.

What uses a 3.2mm nut/bolt? Is this just a 1/8" in disguise? I would have figured that it'd contain a 4.5mm instead, but, nope, 3.2mm.

Bicycle spokes? I remember reading that somewhere I think....
Had to double check but that's a touch small for spokes, the park tool sw0 is the smallest at 3.23mm and it can be a tight fit on quite a few wheels, usually only works on higher end shop wheels while the sw1 which is my go to is 3.3mm, and yes there is a noticeable difference between the two sizes. With how tight the sw0 can often be, even that .03mm would probably kill the usefulness of the wrench for bicycles. Whatever it is meant to fit has to be damn small. maybe small nuts in a circuit board or inside electronics?

The kit comes with 2.0, 3.0, 3.2, 4.0, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 and 7.0.

Thought it was odd that it came with 3.2 instead of 4.5, which seems to be a far more common size...

A few European 1/4" drive socket sets include 3.2 mm sockets.
I've got a Facom set with a 3.2mm hex socket, but no 4.5mm one.

I always figured that 4.5mm was some ******* size from the distant past.
M2 machine screws have 4mm hex nuts, and M2.5 hardware uses 5mm nuts.
What does a 4.5mm socket or wrench fit?

4.5mm is an odd one for sure. If I recall correctly, the only time I have needed one is for an old vintage R/C model car restoration years ago. There was also possibly a nut on a small model R/C airplane engine that used a 4.5mm nut around the carb idle/hi adjustment. Small nuts on most current R/C cars are 4mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, and 7mm.

Possible that a 4.5mm is common in some other specialty hobby.

I think the 1/8 inch socket is very close to a 3.2mm socket. I have a 1/8 inch SK and a 3.2mm Japanese socket and they are very close.

Yeah, 1/8" is 3.175mm, but I don't think that's it - they sell an SAE set that has 1/8" in it.

Electronics maybe? I've had to make a couple wrenches about that size for avionics stuff.
