Hi all, I recently bought some craftsman metric 22-30mm sockets to go w/ my SAE 3/4 drive dockets I had been usings as seal drivers. Anyway I won a proto 3/4 drive proto 5649 ratchet for only 52 plus 16 something shipping brand new on ebay. Anyway 1/2 is bigger than 3/8. 3/4 dwarfs 1/2. It's tiring just lifting the thing.

that is about as cheap as I ever see them go on ebay, as far as new.

most of the time, people spend about $90 after shipping for that ratchet when won on ebay, so you done good!

You can normally get a Urrea (Mexican Proto) for around $20-$30 and it is the exact same ratchet.

You can also buy them at Home Depot with free shipping.

You think 3/4" is big, look at 1". I bought a brand new Armstrong because it was to cheap not to buy, like $30. Although it is shorter then my 3/4" 36" long Cornwell, it makes it look like a 1/2".

I would like to pick up a 3/4 Proto, but not to use, just to make a full set and have people go wow when I ask them to bring me a ratchet from my box.

Yeah, they're heavy and bulky to use. I only do when I have to,otherwise it's out with my 3/4" impact wrench. It's easy.

This place is like an online support group! I have to admit I bought my set with that aspect in mind

You'll need a mAN screwdriver to go with that. ;)

I also have used bigger ones, did one on a foundation had the crane hold the gun that weighed about 1200 # Did a bunch with 1 1/4 that had handles on both sides of it, took 2 men.

1" drive hydraulic impacts are massive, but gasoline powered 1" drive impacts are really tiring to use. The make 3/4" impacts look like toys.
