Damn, I've never seen any 3/4" bent like that! I can't believe the mechanism held up.

I would say it is a big PASS as the ratchet mechanism held up and is still working after someone clearly abused the tool by putting a pipe on it.

Hard to say, if the handle bends easy enough there's not much stress on the mechanism.
