I'm currently going to school to get certified as a heavy diesel mechanic, and while I've got a bunch of tools I've bought or had given to me over the years, I'm trying to find a good 3/4" ratchet. I'm a bit of a tool snob, so I really only buy stuff stamped USA but I was wondering if anyone besides Snap On has a US made one with a handle that isn't 26"? Admittedly I haven't looked super hard, but I'm wary of buying the matco one because I can't find COO and haven't seen anything by Proto that fits the bill. Any suggestions are helpful

As mentioned Wright has the monster 42" one piece as well as several shorter in different lengths. Williams in their USA line up basically sell the old snap on design. Number years ago snap on up the diameter of their bars while the Williams is the old diameter. Cornwell is the only other USA maker of an interchangeable head like snap on. That is what I have for my main 3/4" ratchet. I have both the long and short handle, but haven't switch to the short handle in years. Nobody makes a USA made extendable ratchet to my knowledge.

The EZ Red one isn't USA but it works. I need to get myself another one for xmas to keep in my rig full time instead of stealing one out of the shop.

I do have a proto 3/4" somewhere but I don't use it much.

I really like the Williams USA stuff but I'm really bad at knowing where and how to sift through their Taiwanese and the USA stuff. Any tips or good places to start looking?

I have the Williams H51AB which is made in 'Murica, It's pretty nice and Recently bought a black 24" Wright (the shorter version of that 42" beast) to keep on my truck and it has quickly become my favorite, mainly because the knurling is so aggressive on it.

Williams is pretty good about listing what's made in the USA in their catalog. If you can't find it there, you can call McMaster-Carr and they will usually verify the country of origin for you.
