So my trusty CP 7763 just puked its guts out at work, i havent gotten to take it apart but it feels like the cage or hammer has broken because it periodically locks up and when you try to spin the anvil with your hand you can feel it hang up. Should i rebuild it/buy another, or is there another 3/4 impact that is gonna change my life? For whatever reason there doesnt seem to be much talk about 3/4 impacts here, i tried searching, would like some first hand experience on what works and what doesnt in the real world, we all know the numbers are fudged on paper.

IR 2145Q is the grunt of choice. IR offers stronger versions made more for industrial shop use/abuse in the 2925 series but they cost significantly more.

IR's 2145 is the way to go.

I have an older 2141 and broke it twice (anvil ear & hammer cage), works well though.
A 1680 Aircat is decent, but heavy.

I had demo'd the new at the time Matco MT2334 and wasnt impressed, my 2141 had more oomph. Not sure what the deal was with it, but their 1/2 impact, MT2767, works great

I got one, was IR best at the time. It works. Since you are on an air system it makes sense but I would be hard presses not to be using battery if this was a daily deal. Cost about the same and can throw away the hose.

2145 is significantly lighter, quieter, stronger, and almost $200 cheaper than any 3/4" cordless kit I can find.

The Milwaukee is cheaper if you already have batteries. It is a little bit weaker though. I guess it depends on how good your air is and if you don’t mind dragging the hose around.

I used a Milwaukee 3/4 high torque, found it strong but lacking that little bit extra needed for bolt sizes you'd need a 3/4 impact for and the electric seemed to lose their peak torque quickly with age, still strong but not as strong. Coworker has an aircat 3/4 and for the money it's a great impact, I'm sure the vibratherm is a worthy upgrade considering the size reduction. I myself cried and bought the MG1250, can't say it's stronger than the aircat but I really like the brake feature when I let off the trigger.

The electric 3/4 guns are a joke. I have an IR 2161xp with the rare 3”anvil. i think they only come in short and 6” now. Great wheel gun with lots of balls. Does yoke nuts with no problem on transmissions and rears with ease.
I also have a short IR 2925 which is overkill in most cases and can potentially break or strip bolts by accident.

The 2161 is 1200 or 1250 ft/lb @90. if youre like most guys running 150-175 the power is much much higher. Think they sell for around 650-700 now

1st pic is for comparison mg725, cornwell short 3/4, right is the 2161

I have to agree, i've gotten to use a milwaukee 3/4 and i cant say i see it living a long happy life for my uses. Heat and load are the death of electric motors, and i use my 3/4 pretty much daily for chassis and suspension work on heavy trucks, my question was pertaining to pneumatic guns.

I think there has been a couple of threads on 3/4 air impacts in the last few years. The first choice seems to be IR 2145 and then the Snap-on MG 1250. The Proto J175WP and the Mac AWP075 are also good impacts.

If I were in the market for a new 3/4 I would buy a Mac. Main reason is I have a good dealer and I like the handle better than the IR

I got 2 battery units, they are old, not used a lot but old. I have read some reviews, seems they are all over the place. I only mention it for others not so geared for air. I am an air guy in the shop too. Have good air on my big truck but it's really been retired since the advent of inverter welder and battery tools.

I also have had a few of the ir 261 which is a good gun, but heavy and unergonomic. for an all metal gun the 2161 fits in the hand much better and the direction controls and trigger are more user friendly. The titanium ir is nice but to me felt like it didnt hammer as hard as the 261 or 2161. perhaps thats just the composite housing soaking up the vibration doing its job, but i prefer to have my arm almost twisted off so i know my gun is working lol.

IR2145 has very good power to weight ratio and is a nice gun. I tried Milwaukee Fuel 3/4" ..something.. 2 years ago. I was very happy that gutless turd wasn't mine.

IR 2145 for me also, we have the IR and the Milwaukee 3/4" cordless at work both were over $600 and neither can do what the 2145 can.
