3/8"-16 big sert

has anyone used a 3/8-16 big sert or time sert? I had to drill out a broken started bolt in the bell housing and went a little off center. the tap that came with a heli coil can be pushed into the hole I have with some wiggling. I want to know how much bigger the big sert is or if you know what size tap the 3/8-16 kit uses.


the hole I have should clean up with a 3/8 drill bit. if the big sert wont work do I have another option?

i fixed it with a 7/16 helicoil but i would still like any info you might have on the big serts. thanks

They also make Helicoil inserts for Helicoil inserts...

Big Serts work well on the truly FUBAR'ed holes Time serts are THE way to fix threaded holes IMHO Helicoils meh
