3/8 cordless impact

is this a really useful tool? been wanting one lately, just dont know if it worth spending the money on. whats the highest amount of torque they put out, and whats a good quality one for a good price? really considered one the other day after changin the battery on a mustang and could barely get a ratchet to fit to take off the battery hold down bolt (was in a hurry,almost dark)

I got the dewalt 12v Li for about 125 I think. Mainly just used for small stuff and it comes in hand. So didn't' want to spend a ton. Unless I was going to use it alot.

I sell more cordless impacts (CT4410A) than I do air.

they are ok for smaller stuff, such as the battery. If i was looking at doing lug nuts on a regular basis, i would buy something off a tool truck, or move up to the 1/2 drive ones, or both.

chadster1, i do alot of high performance diesel work, so ill be using it on exhaust clamps, intercooler tubes, etc. and anything easily accesible under the hood to make the job more efficient. how much torque does the CT4410A put out, and whats the battery life befroe needing a charge?

Its worth it. I use my 3/8" more then anything in air, so I am sure cordless is just as good but will not put out the amount of torque we all expect. Either way I am going to get one either for the M18 line or Dewalt 12 V max as I have the drills & impact drivers already.

If you are talking about small v-band clamps on turbos, anything will work.

If you are talking about pipe clamps, you only have 1 consistent option. That would be snappy.

You're gonna pay $425. I know you were all about the duralast a few months ago, so the price will probably be unattractive.

For little clamps that you would usually use 1/4" on, just get your favorite 12v dewalt/milwaukee/bosch/makita.

My snap on 3/8 cordless takes a beating and keep going. I work in a honda body shop and regularly use it. Ive even taken lug nuts off with it. Some say its pricey but its worth it to me. A full battery charge usually lasts all day.

You would love one then!!! Im constantly borrowing my coworkers dewalt, and sometimes wish he wouldnt notice it if i didnt give it back!

diesel research, i still like my duralast tools lol. so the snap on would be better for high torque applications, and the dewalt would be better for things that dont require as much torque?

I have an IR now and love it. I bought my first one, a Makita, about ten years ago when we were racing lawnmowers. When you have to work on something out in a field they are pricless.

IR 14.4 lit ion set is what I have. They have a full line of tools that use the same battery. I have the 3/8 ratchet and the 3/8 impact. Thinking about getting the drill.

i use a bluepoint 14.4v daily at work for removing access panel bolts, and cab holddown nuts.
it works for what i need it for, and saves me a little bit of time.
if i'm at the shop working, i still use an air gun.
i'm a field mechanic at a construction equipment dealship

at home i never in that much of a hurry to do anything, if i need an impact, i usually need a 1/2" dr.
