I don't see why anyone needs these. You can get stubby 3/8" ratchets which are very handy. Otherwise, just use 1/4" drive.

The head is a lot smaller, and makes getting in tight spots a lot easier. It's not so much the length that matters.

I would love to have a 3/8" ratchet with 1/2" guts. Those seem like they could be very handy.

I agree, i was lucky to find both sf720 and lsf720 by SO. I also have couple 3/8 in 1/4 body.

Who knows?
I have the SK versions in both flex and long non-flex. I like them quite a bit. I can see where some might prefer the selector on the Snappy versions, but so far mine have done well without it. If you are using these on the job I'd go with Snappy.

My SK'a handle a lot more torque than I thought they would.

I like the Tone stubby. Japanese company but made in Taiwan.
If you Google RH3CHS you'll find the 3/8 drive 72 tooth stubby in a 1/4 drive body.
The regular length is the RH3CH.
I think the code is RH= ratchet head, 3= 3/8, CH= compact head and the S= stubby.

I've personally never ran into a situation where I needed one.

But now I'm trying to retroactively think, maybe there were some jobs I did where it would have been nice? Can't think of one.

Pretty tough to break a 36 tooth ratchet as well. You can really torque on these little guys.

You can get a Bahco 6950 1/4 ratchet and drop in a Snap-On RKRFC72 rebuild kit into it.

IIRC, the 1/4" Bonney with 3/8" Bonney TW gear is 36 actual teeth but dual pawl so 72 tooth action. Nice little mod.

This is a good idea!

The plate is another $10 or something plus rebuild kit alos $20, some gurus could probably get the p/n. The 36t kit I believe is all included for $10.

I have the SO 3/8" flex. I literally just used it 10 minutes ago. It's just nice to fit in tight places, plus flex and be able to use my 3/8" sockets with it.

It seems like it still works a little better than my regular 1/4" ratchets. Plus I only have the T72 and the TL72 so I don't have the flex option except if I use my 1/4" roto.

I'm still considering buying the SK flex version as well for my truck box.
