Keyword spamming on eBay is a big problem, but in this case it is at least legitimate, as the product is in fact made by Williams, a div. of Snap on.
I hate searching for something on eBay by brand and getting bogus results due to keyword spamming.

Got mine today. It looks like they're 2002 manufacture date.

Update. While the Kobalt sets in the original post may be gone, the deal on the Armstrong individuals just got a little better.

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233179&page=2

See post 29. 10% off if you call in the order to Cripe. They have a boatload of the 9 thru 19MM deep 3/8" impacts. That's about $20 bucks for the set, plus shipping. Part numbers below. Socket rails are also available for $2.

Armstrong 46-709A
46-710A
46-711A
46-712A
46-713A
46-714A
46-715A
46-716A
46-717A
46-718A
46-719A

Credit to TheMangler for also finding the Kobalt 3/8" drive SAE deep set which is listed above in post 41. $23 for that set. One side note, the Kobalt sets seem to be finished better than the Armstrongs. No complaints here though.

Another of interest. Non impact.

As I had shown above, I ordered the Kobalt-Williams shallow impact set and was very happy.

Then, I wanted to follow suit by piecing together an Armstrong deep impact set. Well, the shipping for all the individual sockets combined was 30 dollars, but, from taking y'all's advice, I went ahead and committed to buy them in hopes of getting a reasonable combined shipping cost. Cripes came back with 12 dollars combined rather than the 30, so I was happy with my purchase. Then, when they shipped my sockets out, they sent me a refund of 3 dollars along with a note that I had wound up overpaying actual shipping cost at 12 dollars. Now, they had no compelling reason to send me a refund. I had agreed to, and was happy with the 12 dollars. The refund shows me that Cripes is a company of honesty and integrity. I will absolutely be a repeat customer.

Armstrong deep 9-19 mm along with two Kobalt extensions.

My new Kobalt shallows and Armstrong deeps all on the rack together. Quite a good price for a full complement of 3/8 drive American made metric impact sockets.

Next payday when my tool budget replenishes, I hope they still have those Kobalt-Williams deep SAE sets that TheMangler linked to. If so, I'll buy them. I've punished my beloved SnapOn chrome sockets way too many times with my impacts, its time to do it right.

I swear this site will make a man broke, or dead if he has a wife. Lol. I may be getting closer to both in a few minutes.

Dang, seeing this resurrected made me read a few posts back about the 3/8 deep Armstrongs... I got excited and started adding them all to my cart, then found out they are sold out of the 10mm and 15mm. Bummer

Who knows?
I'd go ahead and jump on it man. For the amount of money you are saving, you can afford to get the two sizes you're missing.

They list other brand names, so when someone searched for "snap on" there listing shows up

Great deal, but I'm going to pass. I got the Craftsman Industrial USA 3/8 shallow metric impacts when they were like 11 bucks a set last year.

I bought all kinds of sockets from him including a big Armstrong 15 pc deep impact set and the shipping was only $16. The shipping for the set by itself was $15 so that is a very honest seller. A lot of Made in the USA stuff in his store!

I'm in the same boat. I just ordered the 15pc Armstrong set. $80 shipped is pretty good, I checked the 14pc set (biggest listed on Armstrong's site) and the lowest I saw was $130 + shipping.

Hey everyone,

I've bought a bunch from these guys. I highly recommend going directly through their website instead of eBay. They will give you a 10-15% discount compared to eBay prices. Shipping can possibly be lowered by leaving your items in cart and call them for a shipping quote.

Ask for Bree, she's awesome.

They've also got a lot of Bosch multi-tool accessories cheaper than anywhere else.

Cripe's eBay has so many items its hard to find what I am looking for.... any other good socket sets? And I guess I am not looking for something specific, but looking in my toolbox to see if I have what's been posted.

I think I am pulling the trigger finally on a deep SAE impact set of sockets.

2x that. The new website is actually pretty good now. There are just a few things on ebay not on the website. Talk to Bree if you want special handling for those situations and she will help work it out. I like Cripes, though not everything is a great deal. If you need an occasional socket or two to fill out a set, they have various armstrong, kd, gearwrench, dewalt, napa, kobalt sockets in different sizes from time to time, some US made, some foreign. Also various bit socket deals too. When I want to buy some things from them, I like to go through the whole website to see what they have. It changes pretty often, so every 6 months or so, need to go through what they have again. - Paul
