Snagged me a Milwaukee Fuel 3/8" Impact and realized my 100s of impact sockets are all 1/2"... sure I can use an adapter if I need but I'd like to get 1 standard quality set specifically for the 3/8"

Suggestions, ideally a deal :rocker: of course, right

Grey? Sunnex? HF & Just replace when they explode

Tekton and atd are usually great deals on Amazon. I've got grey, sunex and gearwrench at work and are a decent price and well built

I have Grey both duo set and the master set, love them both, ive also got the grey master 1/4 and love that also. I never thought I'd use anything smaller than 1/2 impacts but now the 3/8 is what I predominantly use.

Good call on getting impact sockets. The Fuel will really beat up a chrome socket.

I have HF, never broken one. They are pretty large, and the sets skip some less common sizes. That's the drawback to the low price.

The Pittsburgh Pro wobble extensions are fantastic too. Perfect pair with an impact, let's you engage a fastener from a slight angle.

Tekton is a step up, the sets are more complete and I'm sure the finish is better.

I would get the master sunex set with the swivels. I have it to go along with my master 1/2 inch sets. I keep that set in the case to bring with my 3/8 fuel impact and have the 1/2 in the drawer for the 1/2 inch fuel impact.
Had to warranty a small torx that I broke with the 1/2 inch fuel and all I did was call up and they told me to send them a picture. Had a new one a few days later.

GearWrench 44 pc SAE & Metric std and deep
currently $63
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UM688Z6/?tag=atomicindus08-20

This ended up being best bargain regarding material, case, # of pieces... I went this route.

buy the kobalt that were made by williams. cripe still stocks them

Tempted to pick this up just for the missing pieces...
13/16"
7/8"
15/16"
1"

Missing from the Gearwrench, buying them for 2-5$ each is nearly the price of Kobalt set, however only deep in Kobalt set... and still not too sure I want to start trying those sizes on 3/8" and not just step it up to my 1/2" ;) for those bigger sizes.

I have the master 3/8 sunex set. Worth every damn penny.

I was VERY tempted to buy that, it was coming in #2 on my list, and def. had more sizes, etc, but I really don't need the flex, extensions, etc... so GearWrench won out.

That's the route I went. SAE Deep and Shallow Metric through Cripe. Filled in the opposing sets with USA Williams, and they all match.

They only have SEA Deep, didn't see any 3/8 Kobalt Metric sets.

If I do end up getting them from CRIPE -- Now I' wondering what other deals they may have I need :rocker:

Shoot them a message or email through eBay or their site to see if they have any more of the Metrics. I found out through here they still had some, but only had them listed on their Amazon store under a different name. They were able to add them to my order about a year ago.

Be careful, I've spent a small fortune through Cripe, and it was all worth it. They are solid to work with, just make sure to request actual shipping cost before paying.

I bought the Sunex 3580 set and then purchased individuals to make an ultra-complete collection. I now have shallow and deep, SAE (5/16" - 1") and metric (7mm - 22mm) which covers most everything I've needed to work on. I used them with ratchets and breaker bars until I bought the Milwaukee 2754.

Favorite items to get from CRIPE?

Just went through their USA Tools page and have around 120$ in basket and almost 25% of that is the Kobalt Sockets... :D Couple clamps are the other 30% or so, rest is misc. stuff I want to have on hand :) or spares.

!!!!!!!! They have a lot of misc 1-off I may have to take a pic of my socket drawer and see what I'm missing and complete some sets :)

That Sunex 3/8" master set is amazing. It's the perfect mate to the M12 impact. No going back and forth to the toolbox to grab difference sizes and types just drop it down where you're working and get at it!

Sunex 3850 is the best deal out there for a good 3/8 impact set, in my opinion. I finally broke one of my most used swivels(15mm), I emailed them a picture of the broken socket and part number. Received my replacement in less than a week.

I like Sunex. But you cant go wrong with any of the brands suggested in this thread. just make sure they dont skip any sizes. that is so damn annoying.

I found the SAE Deeps, no luck on the Metrics. As said before, might have to email them and find out if they have any left. I bought mine a while ago, and they weren't listed on their site or eBay store anymore. Could have finally run out though.

Thickness-wise they're identical to Williams USA or Snap-on of the same era. Here's my set:

Ill also chime in on sunex warranty. When I got my master 3/8 set last year during the deal they run where you get 50 dollar gift cards rebates. I opened it up and the 17mm deep had a weird chip/crack in it. I called them and in 10 minutes they said they would have one sent out and to just trash the other one. 4 days later new socket in the mailbox.

Well CRIPE's site pisses me off... their cart time out is VERY SHORT.

As-in from around midnight last night to this AM and my cart is empty... ridiculous, now I have to re-add the items...

Honestly as far as best bang for your buck, I'd have to say Pittsburgh professional. They seem at least to me on par with sunex, if you don't wanna go that route, I'd say sunex hands down.

I bought a bunch of snap on impact sockets and they're amazing, they do the job, but if I could do it again I'd go with a cheaper set.

I bought Williams 3/8" 10-19mm shallow impact socket set from the bay 4 years ago to use with my Milwaukee M18 2654. Was cheap too: $24.99 new. No complaints with them.
