3/8 impact sockets?

Have had good luck with my Wright impact sockets, both 3/8 & 1/2 drive.
I'm guessing you already have SAE sockets ? Next time, consider buying some VP or Summit fuel jugs if you have (want to) buy something else.
I bought my 3/8" sockets years ago, bought both SAE/Metric from Sears. They offered buy one and get the other for 50% off. Been 10 years ago probably.

I have been very happy with my Sunex, I cant compare to gearwrench or Tekton, though I think Tekton is CR-V and Sunex is Cro-Mo.

I have them. Looking back, they are a waste of money. I would never own a 3/8" drive impact with enough torque to break a standard chrome socket.
For that matter, "Joe Average homeowner" does not need 1/2" drive anything. Well, maybe a breaker bar, torque wrench and a flip lug nut socket set.

Those things at Orielys are good, that Duro/ATD/Napa things. Some are warranted thru the store. They changed vendors, changed owners, still give a replacement socket.

I got a handful of swivels but rarely use them. Occasionally bump something loose on brake caliper brackets but most the rest of the world I can get straight, some extensions, different length sockets, short and long.
If I was on it regular would get some 3/8 impact but I can seem to manage all 1/2 which I like as I am not parked in front of a single box on a car, all over the place, use some battery and its all one layer. I should have 1 more gun I find myself looking for quite often.
O actually remove as much as I add anymore, just dont need pieces and they clutter the stuff I do. I told the secretary to get 4 more 99E, we ran out last week and it cost some frustration. I had 3 or 4 and they are just gone.

I bought a 3/8 impact socket set to specifically use with my dewalt 3/8 20v impact wrench. Plus it gave me an excuse to buy more tools

Good choice and a great set! I bought one a few years ago and the master set is the way to go. The sockets fit will and are thought, exactly what you would expect from impact sockets.
I received the set on Friday. Looks nice, haven't used it yet.
The first thing I did was take a yellow junkyard marker and dab a little on the size marks in the case. I makes them easy to read, and I can pick a socket without having to look at the mark on the socket, unless i put something back in the wrong spot.

Although we all do it, we shouldn't use chrome on an impact. As far as using 3/8" impact sockets, I've used a 1/2" impact with a reducer to get in some tight spots.
You can stick to your breaker bar, I'll take my 1/2" impact when rotating tires and R/R 32 lug nuts. Not to mention working on any suspension parts in the rust belt.

I have never used a chrome on an impact in school we got yelled at if we did so I don’t know and I couldn’t stand the thought of misusing a tool either.

You can get a 1/2" impact wrench for under a hundred bucks; a quality 1/2" impact socket set goes for around $50--$60. We're not talking about a lot of money here. I use my 1/2" gun for lug nuts and mower blades.
I leave my breaker bar in the trunk in case I get a flat on the road.
You're still young. A day will come when the only socket that will fit a custom wheel is a thin walled chrome socket.
Or there's a missing lug nut key and you pound a cheaper 12 pt chrome deep well on it to get it off.

Greetings: I'm kind of guessing here since I really don't know what you're working on or if you want both shallow & deeps so here goes.
My first recommendation would be the sunex mid length set. they run 8-22 mm which would cover about 95% of the sizes an auto tech uses. they're not shallow but, they're not real deep either, they're just right to give you a little knuckle clearance.

"Joe Homeowner" here (not sure how Average), and I use 1/2" drive sockets all the time and not just impacts. I use my chrome sockets all the time. I usually reach for them or my 1/4" drive set before 3/8" . Probably because dad always used 1/4" or 1/2" (my SAE regular length sets are Dad's old Cman sets).
