I have one, I really like it. Its nice not having to lug my old heavy *** 1/2 gun around all day. Very few times did it not have enough power and I had to go bigger. For $270 i would buy that set, I paid $265 for just my gun.

I really like my new Ingersoll-Rand 2115QTiMAX 3/8" gun. Lighter and more comfortable to use than the Snap-on gun. 300lb/ft, takes off wheel nut/bolts without any fuss. i've only had it for a few days, but it's already money well spent.

I'd DEFINITELY reccomend those Snap-on impact sockets though.

the student price is half?! well im gunna have to find a younger guy close by and start ordering through him

yea its about half. the only thing is that when your buying things under the student program, you can only buy one of each thing for the discount. no doubles.

that 3/8 snappy will make your cheap 1/2 look like a kids toy...... they definatly compliment the 1/2 snap on impact... if i could afford them, they would both be in my box... have the 1/2 and saving for the 3/8

:lol_hitti, I guess someone forgot to tell our local SO industrial rep for the local community college.
Had a kid in the tech program buy 4 SO torque wrenches for us in the shop; all the same part number and part of the student program.

I use a Mac 3/8 ratchet that has been known to out torque some of the mid grade 1/2 impacts. Since I don't put my 3/8 impact sockets through any major stress, I picked up a set of Pittsburgh impacts from Harbor Freight and I have to say that I am VERY impressed with the quality of them. I ended up getting quite a few sets of Pittsburgh impact sets (3/8 and 1/2 in both metric and standard) for the price it would have cost for one set of Craftsman 3/8 impacts.
I do have some better name brand 1/2 impacts, but for the limited use they get in my garage, the Pittsburgh's have held up just as good and I've yet to break one. If it means anything to you, my 1/2 impact gun is the IR 2135TI Titanium which is quite powerful.

I agree, the HF impact sockets are worth every dime. I've cracked 1 or 2 in the past 10 years..
