Has anyone seen any of these? A friend had a snapon one, I thought it was pretty sharp. He also had a Matco 24" ext. It was 1/2 female and 3/8 male, Anyone seen any of these?

Thanks Ed

I fished a Wright 3430 out of the bay of fleas some time back - haven't used it much, but it has a nice feel. I wouldn't want to lean on it like a full-size 3/8" ratchet, though.

SK makes them too. The head is not as thin as the Snap-on but they are very strong and have a super smooth 60 tooth ratchet mechanism.

I had one the Snap-on ones.I used to put my 19mm socket on it and leave it sit on top of my tool box to see the reactions on peoples faces.Aside from sheer coolness it was a really handy tool in the limited access situations that a car stereo installer often encounters.

I like that flex snap! All of mine were the regular handles.

I didn't need them often but every once in a while they were priceless.

I have the Snap~on fixed ratchet version. I also had an SK 33" extension (it is missing), that thetoolwarehouse sells (not where I bought it though). Mac, Snap~on and others sell them, although if I were to pay retail (found a deal on the last one), I would prefer locking impact reducer extensions, personally.

I have the locking set, but i still payed $200 under retail on the whole set and they are brand new.

Does Snap-On still sell a 3/8 ratchet in a 1/4 body? Anyone have the PN?

There are a lot of situations on cars where you'll want to stay with a 3/8 drive socket but need the compactness of a 1/4 ratchet. I'm thinking the rear spark plugs on my Buick would be a lot easier to turn with an FCF936. :pimpflash

By the way, on ebay these ratchets pull in some insane bids.

Another option is to convert your 1/4 drive ratchet over to 3/8 by changing out the gear and cover plate.

Are those parts interchangeable between drive sizes??? I've wondered about this before....

I don't see why not. . . :dunno:

I know on the older ones it worked. The guts from my M70 (9/32 drive), TM70B? (1/4" drive), and FM70 (3/8" drive) were all interchangeable.

I no longer own the 1/4" drive.
