Thanks to Mint for providing me a Link to this thread!

I don't think this is a factory spinner, and I suspect it may be one of the oldest in thread (baring our OP's Perfect handle, also shop made from all appearances) - one of my favorite drive tool acquisition - Its a SO 3/8 extension made into a two fisted spinner/driver. I don't use it often, but its a joy to use - It's also a very fine build as I'm certain its shop made not mass produced:

The Ferrule is super interesting to me - the hex for putting a wrench on then, mot one, but two steps out to the opening for where the drive "bit" was pressed in. plus the extended ferule to the wood grip, octagonal shaped.

How do I know it's SO based? that "n" is the last n of Snap-On:

I also have to thank @Mintgrun for the link.

Here’s the 3/8 SK spinner I picked up yesterday. I’ve never seen one before.

Jawco? I thought they made thread chasers and such.

^ primarily thread chasers. not sure that that piece is about. Bowers has them on a close-out - he's liquidating all the "Jawco" except the "file" type thread chasers.

I have a couple more that I couldn’t find. My garage was hot and humid.

These are a couple that are easy to find, because I keep them in my metric drawer. There should have been an F-40 in there, as well.3AEA1AFA-7122-465B-A988-DB385381C822.jpeg

Pretty average. Of the ones i have handy, the bonney I have has the best grip, but the metal ones will take a crossbar.

It's not vintage, or even good quality, but I stripped the shank out of a P2 Kobalt screwdriver, drilled it out to 1/2 (ended up being a little loose), cut down an extra Kobalt extension and super glued it together. Realized after that I didn't line up the logos, but this is just a proof of concept. If I like it and it fails, I'll find a better handle and redo it

I found this abused unmarked 3/8” drive spinner at a local sale yesterday.IMG_6285.jpegIMG_6286.jpeg I’m not positive but it has some resemblance to my Snap-on example.IMG_3920.jpegIMG_1644.jpeg

Lugz reminded me of this thread. I'm adding my Carter 3/8" socket drive spinner-type tool found today at a tag sale. About 4" overall length and nicely made. Lugz noted that it was included in some Carter carb repair kits but it will serve me nicely as a spinner.

Faced with the dilemma of no less than three (3) different "Palm-Grip" related threads in which to post this Palm-Grip No. 8A-3/8" drive spinner, I decided to take the easy way out and post it here! :)

If you're not familiar with Palm-Grip, and you're thinking, "Okay, sure, it's nice and stubby, but I don't get the name...," Palm-Grip tools, including screwdrivers, nut drivers, and - apparently, socket spinners (although this is the first example I have seen - and I didn't even know they made them), came with a Walden-like cap-like palm ratchet that plugged into the female drive opening built into the end of the handles. Where this one is unfortunately split!

For further reading, here are those aforementioned "Palm-Grip" related threads:

A vert short and typical people/patent-oriented Woody thread from October 2017

A thread that got the most traction from Marvin Berry in July 2021

And an OOB query type thread from August 2024

And the entry in 4.c's A-Z Mfgr's thread...
Kipton / Kipton Industries, Kipton, OH / US Patent 2620001 Dec 2 1952 & 2672066 Mar 16 1954 George C. Fratz and Paul W. Sandrock / Canadian Patent CA522892 CA524280 / "Kip-Tuf" Palm-Grip ratchet / https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/palm-grip-ratchet-replacement-screwdrivers.484483/ /
In looking them over again, this appears to be the first spinner anyone has posted.

My crappy DIY one has come in handy a bunch of times. I'd like to either swap it to a different handle or buy a commercial one
