Will you be doing any heavy work with it? Amazon has a few kits with a set of universal joints for your entire ratchet set for a reasonable price. If heavy work in sure a set of gear wrench would do ok, or cheap impact universals off amazon if price is an issue.

Generally, the higher the price, the better the quality, but why not Craftsman? I've still got my dads mid sixties era uni's and they're fine. I like my Snappy's better, but whatever.........

No heavy work will be done with it. It will be used mainly to remove hard to reach CPS sensor bolts. I am sure that any one will do but I always like to buy good quality tools and I never know if I will be needing it for a tougher job in the future.

Thanks for the tip about the pins. I will check out the Craftsman's when I have a chance. I already checked out the Husky's at Home Depot but I was turned off by them because they are Chinese made.

I don't even know if any tool makers still use roll pins over solid pins, but I've seen them in the past on lower level stuff.
Can't say what the COO of the Crafty's are lately, but SK would be a good US made option, Wright also but they'll cost more. Proto, Mac, Cornwell, Snappy would also be of US origin.
Thought about a used set?
Craftsman is still US made, you can pick up the set for around $20 regular price, looks like they would be $17 if bought online w/ pickup in store:

I still see quite a few from KD and Easco on ebay that use roll pins. But yes, better to stay with solid pins. Snap on universals have the best clearance. S-K universals are also very nice. Also it doesn't hurt to have more than one.

I have an excelent snap-on one. I will sell you for 60% of retail with free shipping.
I've warrantied a CMan 3/8s before. Don't know when it happened but one of the pins broke however it still mostly functioned so prob why didn't notice untill looking it over one day. I got some kobalts when lowes was blowing there usa tools out.

What's wrong with roll pins? My old Cman -V- series have roll pins and they are WAY tighter than the newer versions that use solid pins.

Craftsman is fine...when they get loose I bring em back for a new one...and they will get floppy.

I have a couple SO ujoints I never have used. Just never seen a use on road tractors. May list them and some other things I'd like to get rid of. PM me if you may be interested in one.

Yeah, every time I've tried to use a u-joint, I've been annoyed. I've developed an allergy to them. I have developed a preference for wobble extensions or swivel sockets.
