I have a 3" ABS vent stack that runs on the inside of the wall and up through the ceiling out the roof. The house is a 1-1/2 story so the stack runs through where the ceiling starts angling. It was cast iron and and now replaced with ABS.

I have to patch all the drywall back in and know I could cut around and mud up to the pipe, but I was wondering if there would be something that would look better. I looked up plumbing escutcheons and they make them for 3" ABS, but once the pipe is angled it wouldn't fit properly.

Any ideas on how to finish this so it looks good?

I would put something in floor to ceiling to hide the entire pipe. (Then you wouldn't need to worry about the ceiling penetration.) If you don't want to box it out with drywall or tile, there are lots of creative ideas you will find on the internet if you search for "hide pipe."

Not a bad idea.

I should have mentioned I will be selling the house within the next few months so the quicker and easier the fix, the better.

I will research and maybe find a pre-fabed cover.

I would box it in with drywall, but I'm very used to working with it.
if you have reservations about drywall, a box made from wood , sanded & painted would be quick too.
no matter what, the ceiling should be drywalled at minimum

I got the drywall on the ceiling and will start with that.
