3 car attached garage ideas?

I might suggest to keep looking for a house that already has a garage, whether it be a full basement garage or a Detached. Building at Todays prices is going to be close to 2X what it was over a year ago. Your build quotes are going to be High and that is IF the builder can get the supplies. Buddy was recently approved to build a garage on his recent house and while he did not say exactly what the build quotes were he just said, in disgust, thet were More than he had into the house including renovations.

Depends on whether you build it yourself, finishes, and what's considered an adequate style of construction at the location in question. In a some places, you could add on a nice 3 car garage for $20,000. Other places, $150,000.
Although materials may be less because you have one or more walls already, attached is generally more complicated and expensive than building a stand alone structure. Have you considered buying a house with a two stall and building a stand alone garage/shop?
Anyway, on the original plan, I added a 3.5 stall attached to my house, replacing a one stall that was torn down. My cost was about $40,000 in 2019. I had an old friend do the demo, concrete pour, and put up the trusses and roof, he basically did it at cost of materials or less (I tried to pay him more he wouldn't take it). So anyway I figure 40,000 is close to the lowest price doing work yourself at pre-inflation material costs.

Barebones stick built on an ideal site can start as low as $50-75 per sq. ft. around me. It can go well up over $200+ per square foot when you start getting fancy or factor in things like retaining walls and new driveways.
I am in the NH area. Thanks for the replies, I figured it ranged a lot, 150k does seem steep I was guessing on the 50k range.
As for attached vs standalone most of what I have read says attached ends up being cheaper, but anecdotally I've heard that standalone can be. I'm not opposed to stand alone

It's the foundation. If attached, it's probably going to be footings below frost line, stem wall, stick framed walls, and trusses, and siding and roofing to match your house. All those same systems on detached will probably cost a little more - the fourth wall. I'd plan upwards of $100 sq ft - before insulation or interior finishes - turnkey contractor.
But detached could be noticeably less expensive. A post frame building - built for you, is probably in the $50-60 SQ ft range. Metal siding and roof, no insulation or interior finishes. Now, you can sheath and put same siding as house on it, and do same for roof.
I'm planning a 28 or 30x 36 detached post frame, metal roof, local rough sawn board and batten, and figuring $20,000 all DIY (DIM for myself?) before slab, another $8000 to 10,000 contract, no insulation or interior finishes. It's a barn for storage, period.
Lots of variables. Many choices.

I recommend that you find a house with an existing 3 car attached. Doing so will, imo, save you money, time, and trouble. Spending 50 to 150K on adding a 3 C attached or detached garage is a long run money loser imo (such RE additions rarely pay off). Btw, you should add at least 10-25% to the build estimate and the estimated time to finish it.

yeah, you might want to triple the estimated time.
What about finding a home with a two car garage, that has enough room on the property to have a third garage stall added onto the end? Just build out the third garage when you have time or after material costs go back down. Install a regular man door through the exterior wall of the existing two car garage to get into the third garage. You might even find it nice having the third garage largely walled off from the other two. For instance, if the third garage became a dedicated shop, you would have a lot more wall space for workbenches and overhead cabinets if the space had all 4 walls. Also, any dust from the shop wouldn't travel to your vehicles parked in the other two stalls, and any noise or smells generated in the shop would be less likely to be heard or smelled inside the house. If your circumstances ever changed and you found you no longer needed one of the garage stalls for a shop or a car, the third garage could even turn into a rent out storage unit for extra cash or a temporary living space/bedroom for a family member or a friend.

Another option is find an attached 2-car that has room / layout behnd the outboard stall to build a third stall behind it, alongside the house. You still have 3 / workshop space, if you only have 2 drivers in the household.
When pricing out our new construction house. It was $41/sqft to make the garage bigger. That was December 2020 pricing. I wouldn’t be surprised if today it was closer to $65+/sqft in addition to whatever they are charging for a new construction house today.

Maybe stating your needs and desires for the space might help shape some useful suggestions. Barring that, it wont be any cheaper to add it AFTER your house is built / finished.
