New member, been lurking on your galleries and getting motivation, so thank you all. I’m here for motivation and to hold myself accountable for progress.

We embarked on a gigantic exterior remodel this year and one of the spaces I was able to wrap into the budget is our 25'x32' 3-car garage.
Priority one was to replace the 43 year old concrete with a new slab. Demo began in July 2020. IMG_3717.jpg

Glad to have the rubble out of my life.

Hired an architect for the design, as I don’t have the imagination for it.

Concrete is gone, so after Thanksgiving we were able to get the floor prepped.
I’m potentially inheriting a couple of muscle cars at some point in the future, and wanted to future-proof my plan by pouring an extra thick floor reinforced with rebar to accommodate a future 2-car 4-post lift, which will require me to alter the trusses to vault the ceiling, but we’ll cross that bridge hopefully way later.

Guys did a good job.
Those of you with a keen eye will notice a plywood sheet on top of a concrete footing in the back.
That is the remnant of the old basement access stairs from the ‘70s. They poured a concrete block over it and then put a hinged piece of plywood over the hole. I’m guessing it is 8’ deep. I saved for future use as a gun safe or barrel-aged beer cellar.

Two weeks ago the guys came and poured the floor. Turned out really nice. 5” thick with aforementioned rebar.

I have always wanted to have heat and A/C in my garage, and if I’m going for full-blown showroom treatment, I feel like it’s almost required. My good friend works at the HVAC wholesale supply house and hooked me up with everything I need at his cost.
A Samsung mini-split is going in the attic instead of the typical wall-mounted cassette style as I don’t want anything on the walls that isn’t art.
So, more things to research and learn. The parts all arrived this week.

Now to layout where to place the diffusers and future recessed panel lighting. IMG_3166.jpg

Maybe one of you can chime in and help me figure out why my photos post so small on the browser version of the site. They aren't as large and detailed as other galleries I've seen. Thanks.

Sorry, I can't help with the photos but someone will chime in. Looks great so far. I'm really interested in the A/C install...............did not know this was possible.
