I have a 3PH 6 ton package unit. Any easy way to use it on 1PH service?
Thanks

No, not worth the hassle IMO. Sell it and use the cash to buy the right unit.

Sure. Replace 3 phase compressor with two or three 1 phase compressors, replace the evaporator and possibly the condenser fan motors with 1 phase ones and you're good to go...

Seriously, not worth the hassle, even of it is possible.

Are you trying to put this on the roof of a building or a shop? Why do you want a package unit?
Not to mention the fact that 6 tons is a whole lot of cooling.;)

Smaller (5 ton & less) use single phase condenser fan & evap motors, still not worth the trouble because the compressor still would need to be replaced, just not worth it, scrap the unit.

A three phase converter could be used, but the loss in efficiency will more than eat up the difference in cost to replace it with a correctly sized single phase unit.
