Looking for help, bought an old radial drill press, with 3 phase motor, (I don’t have 3 phase) a friend who is a electrician, sold and install a motor control. Which works great except that I have to turn it on and off from the wall mounted control. Not safe and a pain. I bought a on/off/reverse switch, little confused on how to wire it

By wall mounted control, do you mean a VFD (variable frequency drive) of some sort? Word is they don't like having their outputs switched under load. A small VFD at the drill press is the way to go.

So, you are currently running the 3 phase drill press off single phase through a "motor control"?
Picture / specs off the motor control? Picture / specs off on/off/rev switch?

If on a VFD, you can control it's reversing (and more) by changing the VFD's programming parameters.
Any type of switch between the motor and the VFD will reduce the life of the VFD greatly, because every time you turn it off it will do damage to the VFD's output transistors.

Dont put a switch between the motor and VFD. Instead connect the switch to VFD control inputs.
What is pictured is a VFD - variable frequency drive. It does allow you to run a 3 phase motor off a single phase input.
Take Wyliesdiesels warning and do not put a switch on the ouput side of the VFD. The best way to wire in a forward / reverse / off switch is to use the low voltage terminal strip located inside the VFD. The manual will show the correct terminals to use. You may have to set some of the programming options to have it work as you wish.
Note - the "off" position will be no output to the motor. The VFD will remain "powered up" until main power (single phase 240) is removed.
I believe the remote keypad option just allows you to unplug the keypad and remote mount it using a cable. You could use keypad functions to operated the VFD.

Just picture matching...but ***IF*** you have an ABB ACS550-U1, then you can wire a remote switch:

But a model number would sure help. (When we say picture it is kinda assumed a picture of the nameplate/model/etc)

But from the schematic a low voltage (24VDC?) switch between pin 11 & 13 should do it.

terminal 11 (not 10) and 13 will give it the run signal, Open for stop, closed for run. Terminal 11 and 13 will give it forward / reverse. Open for forward, closed ( ground 13) reverse.

Is there away to do this on the drill press verse at the wall unit?

I have the full manual with the vfd, just a bit confusing for an old school guy. I’ll try and order the remote, and see if I can figure it out. Thanks guys

Be aware, the "remote kit" may be a bracket and cable. The Key pad on the VFD unplugs from the unit and has an Ethernet type connection. You the can mount the keypad at a remote location and hook it to the VFD with the cable. You will then use the keypad to run the motor.
