3 phase ?

i am no electrician but i am being given a 3 phase air compressor and was wondering. is there anything special about this when it comes to hooking up.
my garage is not finished so i have total access to my breaker box.

can this be wired directly into this panel or will i have to run a second sub panel?

Welcome to the board!

Unless you have a three phase electrical service (which is unlikely unless you're in a commercial building), you either need to replace the three phase motor with a single phase motor, or get a phase converter of some type to make it work. This has been discussed a number of times here, do a forum search and you should be able to find plenty of good reading.
