I've always wanted a 3 point trailer hitch for my compact Ford tractor to tow trailers and other equipment I use for yard work. I also like to re-purpose material when possible to save money. I bought a discarded tow hitch built for a truck at a yard sale for $10.
I cut the truck hitch into these parts.
Initial parts ready for welding.
I added a few pieces of steel I had lying around my shop, drilled some holes and spent about 3 hours welding. Here is the painted finished product ready to mount on my tractor. Total cost $35, sells for $180 at tractor supply stores.
