Hi everyone, this is my first post. I stumbled across this site and its really cool. Alot of great pics. and ideas.
Here are a few pictures of the 3 story barn I built about 15 years ago. Not the best pics. but you can see the building in the background. It is 32'X60' and has a drive in basement with shop, second floor car storage, and with the gambrel roof that gives me a third floor for misc. storage. All the pictures are taken from basicly the same end, just different angles and positions.
I have some of construction some where that I will have to dig out later.
pic.1 Taken on the front side, second floor, where I park the antique cars, the doors are about 16" above grade, because I used 2X12 floor joists on 16" centers with 3/4" plywood floor. I don't get the cars out much, when I do I use ramps. It also makes it hard for someone to drive one off and steal one. The antique cars don't weigh as much as the modern ones, I also laid 2X12s flat on the floor as runners for the tires, to distribute the weight. Oh thats my 1931 Ford Roadster in the pic.
pic2 Taken from the drive going to the basement entrance end. You can see the 2 story spiral staircase I put in to the third floor. I also have stairs inside, but my buddy got these form a treatment plant that was being torn down. They are cast iron, each step weighs about 100lbs. I sandblasted, painted and put them together. Thats my 1937 Ford pickup.
pic3 Taken going into the basement shop. Thats another project now completed, 1937 Farmall tractor.
