3 Ton floor jack options

I need a new floor jack and had the napa 3.5 ton floor jack in mind for a while now and last year it was 180. Was in there the other day for some other stuff and was going to pick one up and he said 290 on special now. There is a tool show next month and they are usually on sale during that time. If they get back down to the 200 dollar mark I will pick one up but wanted to see what other options are out. If I do have to pay the higher price just want to see if there something better to look into in the 200-300 dollar price range. Right now I have a HF 3 ton that has been decent for the last 10 or so years but need to upgrade.

The “Super duty” version in the Daytona lineup is there “top end” albeit minus a quality Main piston seal, but does carry the best warranty. The normal Daytona lineup is No different than the previous/current HF Pittsburg models in regards to the hydraulics, only a new frame design and look at me colors and stickers.

Hiball, if you were going to purchase a new 3 ton floor jack today (regardless of price) what would you buy and why?

1. HW 93652, No quick lift, Might cause issues with lower profile vehicles, but a tried and true design.

2. Gray FSJ-60Q $$$$$$

3. Menards Masterforce, Torin JackBoss, or Northern Tools Yellowjacket, Basically whomever was closest and could handle any issues if anything happened during the warranty period. Shipping floor jacks is No fun. Albeit these jacks will share hydraulic features with HF, they carry a Ucup on the Main ram.

4. Hf “super duty” Daytona models, the 3 year warranty is a solid selling point.


A lot of people speak highly of AC hydraulic jacks, I’m not familiar with them outside of GJ posts and looking at specs but it wouldn’t hurt to look into what they carry in 3 ton.

I’ts gonna be the same design, I’m just not 100% sure on the seal components. I recall reading that they also use Ucups all around so that’s a viable option with Napa’s in most areas.

I’d say Daytona or Pittsburgh even from Harbor Freight I’ve got one at home and we have some at work too. Excellent solid jacks in a variety of colors. We had the ugly yellow super duty one at school that done very well too. Those are the only jacks I’d buy these days because of my experience and the price.

I have a 3 ton arcan jack got off amazon 2017, been a good jack, but I don't use it everyday. I am not a mechanic just work on my own cars. Paid $125 dollars back then, hate to see what they go for now. Good luck with your choice.

I got my Arcan XL35 at Northern Tool for, I think, $199ish (maybe coupon after that) about 5 years ago and have been very happy with it.

I have the NAPA 3.5 ton jack and have had no problems with it. I've had it 6 or 7 years, and my only quibble is that it's heavy. I'm just surprised at how much the price has risen.

Arcan are not bad for home gamer. Prices have increase by $100, amazing.

I've had this Hein-Werner jack for the last seven years, and I like it. Seems to be rock solid. I don't have low profile vehicles, so that hasn't been an issue for me. The wide footprint has been an issue for some applications. I thought that the Hein-Werner was expensive-- until I looked at the Gray, yikes.

The NAPA 3.5t is really heavy but my bigger complaint is that the lift speed is SLOW. I think because it's a single piston. Thankfully, it's not my primary jack so I live with it. I typically use a 2t aluminum jack with much, MUCH faster lift speed. Also much lighter so it's easier/quicker to maneuver around. I only ever use the NAPA 3.5t for heavy lifting which is not too often.

I have two Torin 3.5 ton jacks, one of them is rebranded to Menards Masterforce, and a HF Daytona three ton long reach low profile. The HF is the only jack I use anymore. If I needed another jack, I would buy another in a heartbeat.

I have the HF Daytona Super Duty and have been happy with it. Replaced an old orange/white HF 3 ton that was still going strong but I needed something with longer reach and higher lift, and the quick lift is nice to have as well.

Costco sells a couple that go on sale a few times a year. Not sure on overall quality but you do get the Costco return policy.
